
Dr. Stern is the Founder and Medical Director of the BLUESLEEP™ comprehensive snoring and sleep apnea center. A board certified Ear Nose and Throat surgeon fellowship trained in Head and Neck Surgery, he has over 20 years clinical experience. He has been recognized as one of America’s Top Doctors by the NY Times Magazine every year since 2008. He is an associate adjunct surgeon in the Department of Otolaryngology of the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary and is sub-specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of snoring and sleep apnea, and voice and swallowing disorders.
Prior to establishing his private practice Dr. Stern was director of the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology service at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Cancer Center of New York. He is past chief of Head and Neck surgery in the departments of Otolaryngology of Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital and the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Stern has contributed to the field of head and neck surgical oncology and laryngology with over 100 publications and academic presentations. He is the recipient of the Honor Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery for educational services to members and guests of the Academy. Based on his extensive experience in treating sleep disorders he has been actively involved in evaluating, testing and developing new “patient friendly” devices for detecting these disorders. Dr. Stern is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He attended Columbia University as an undergraduate and obtained an M.D. degree from the George Washington University Medical School in 1985. He was an intern in surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and joined the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in 1986 as an Otolaryngology resident. In 1990 he became a fellow in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery at the Northern France Cancer Center, Lille France.
